An account claiming to be an Al Jazeera journalist posted on X (previously known as Twitter) saying they had proof Hamas fired a missile that targeted the Al-Ahli Arab hospital. Factchecked: "The X/ Twitter account @_Faridakhan in question has no connection to Al Jazeera and falsely claimed an affiliation with our organization," Al Jazeera acknowledged to AFP on October 23. Hamas first accused Israel, however Israel has subsequently stated that the missile was fired from within Gaza towards Israel before misfiring and colliding with the hospital facility. On October 23, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated that it was "likely caused by a missile, or part of one."
