This article shows examples of prominent figures spurring controversy over Damar Hamlin’s collapse on the field. Their reason for the cardiac arrest he suffered is the covid vaccination. They believe the vaccine creates heart problems and the situation would have been avoided if Hamlin was unvaccinated. This conspiracy was spread to the public using the illusory truth effect, important people with an audience willing to listen were told over and over again this crazy conspiracy. It was their reason to explain what happened to Damar Hamlin while also spreading anti vaccine misinformation. Later the conspiracy was taken to a whole new level believing that Hamlin was in fact dead and now was seen as a clone as a cover up.
